THE Tony Mole era of Birmingham Speedway finished with one final fitting win as they beat local rivals Coventry in a 46-44 thriller at Perry Barr. No more than six points ever separated the two sides in a fixture which went down to a last race decider on a thoroughly entertaining night in front of a big crowd.

BRUMMIES vs COVENTRY, PREVIEW

BIRMINGHAM owner Tony Mole will bow out of the sport on Wednesday with a special Farewell meeting at Perry Barr (7.30pm). The Brummies will renew their rivalry with Coventry on what promises to be a special night in the second city as Mole retires after a 31-year career as a promoter. The Kidderminster businessman brought speedway back to Birmingham in 2007 and again saved the club in 2015.

STARKE ADDED TO FAREWELL LINE-UP

PAUL Starke is the latest name to be added to Tony Mole's Farewell meeting which sees Birmingham take on Coventry at Perry Barr this Wednesday (7.30pm). The Herefordshire born racer was a popular part of the Brummies' 2014 side which had their season brought to an early end under the Phillips regime.
